The dual diploma programme will see students get the internationally recognised IED diploma as well as undergo training at IED
Jewellery Design & Technology Institute, India's premier jewellery design and training institute, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Instituto Europeo Di Design (IED), a leading International Design Institute based in Italy's fashion capital Milan. IED is an international network of Institutes that operates in the field of training and research in the disciplines of jewellery design, fashion, visual arts and communication.
JDTI & IED have decided to collaborate in order to provide wider educational opportunities and platforms to the students of jewellery design. The MoU envisages that all students of JDTI, current as well as the alumni, who have completed their 2 year course, are eligible to undertake their 3rd year top up programme in association with IED and receive a diploma from IED.
The students enrolled in the programme will be provided two month training by IED at Milan and they will receive a diploma from IED at the successful completion of the programme. The agreement is applicable for JDTI's Noida Campus and soon to be launched Chandigarh campus.
Mr. Bhushan K Narula, Managing Director, Silver Smith India Limited (SSIL) said that "This is an important milestone in the history of JDTI and will help in creating better designers who are exposed to the best international design practices and will give a fillip to the fledging Jewellery design industry".
In addition, all JDTI students are also eligible to attend the summer course at IED, where summer training will be provided to JDTI students at IED and this training will count towards the compulsory internship at JDTI.
The Bombay Stock Exchange Listed Silver Smith India Limited (SSIL) is a specialised multidimensional jewellery solutions company engaged in education and training, retailing of designer jewellery and design development services. JDTI is the education and training arm of SSIL. SSIL also retails high end designer jewellery under "Niche" brand. Design Development services are offered under Design Development Council (DDC) where jewellers, designers and export houses can come and get jewellery designs created for them by the designers of SSIL.
