The Institute of Computer and Finance Executives (ICFe), the leading provider of training for financial sector, today held a special lecture cum workshop for practicing managers on "Changing Scenario of Auditing and Accounting Patterns in India" at its regional office in Lucknow. Mr. Dhruv Aggarwal, Chairman of Central India Regional Council, Institute of Chartered Accounts of India delivered the keynote lecture and urged the need for following the processes and stringent norms for the sector.

"Satyam Fiasco has suddenly bought the focus on the Accounting profession in India. The role of the auditors, chartered accountants and accountants has suddenly begun to be questioned. As leading players in the training for the sector, we believe that it is important to understand the issues involved and prepare the budding accountants for the jobs that they have ahead of them", says Mr. Santosh Mangal, Managing Director, Nexgen Edusolutions, the promoters of the ICFe brand.

The reality is that the auditing and accounting standards are undergoing change at a rapid pace. With International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) set to become mandatory from 2011 it becomes even more important for the accounting executives, CA's, Industry and the likes to understand and comprehend the changing Accounting scenario and the consequent change in the auditing environment.

"To prevent Satyam type fiascos the accounting profession has to update themselves to the changed regulatory as well as practiced environment of the accounting profession.
