Healthcare is a vital field that concerns every citizen and community. Accordingly, governments care for this field to preserve their valuable human resources. Governments achieve this goal by dedicating a big share of their financial resources, employing scientific potentialities, and utilizing technologies to support their healthcare frameworks. Developing countries face challenges to balance healthcare costs with quality. Based on this fact, this workshop will focus on two dimensions that are affordable and applicable to resolve the complex equation. These two dimensions are hospital automation and telemedicine services.
The first dimension concerns with the efficient hospital management and performance management methods. The dimension can be achieved by applying successful managerial practices and indicators that are utilized in powerful information management system and efficient performance management framework. The information management system ensures the integrity and validity of the applied managerial practices and provides better management for assets, patient's records, human resources, etc. Such a system maximizes healthcare quality and minimizes operational costs and efforts whatever the affiliate that deploy it. The performance management framework doesn't only monitor the performance of each hospital activity against preset targets but also provides proactive alerts for decision makers for any low performing unit.
The second dimension concerns with the telemedicine. Telemedicine is a rapidly developing application of clinical medicine where medical information is transferred through telecommunication medium for the purpose of consulting, remote medical procedures or examinations. The benefits of telemedicine are not limited to ease access, convenience, quicker/correct diagnostics, safety, less anxiety, more empowerment but there are many other benefits that will be revealed in the workshop. The workshop emphasizes on the cooperation between telecommunication services providers and electronic healthcare services providers because such cooperation will reveal new investment opportunities for all involved parties.
