As Owner and Principal Consultant of Changemaking Systems LLC for the past 28 years, John has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the best.
Changemaking Systems is a consulting firm that has been guiding organizations in strategic planning and organization change since 1982, when it was founded by John C. Johnson. They firmly believe in the concepts of strategy and change. Changemaking Systems begins by positioning an organization so that it can succeed. They then start making changes in such a way that success is achievable.
The company works with professional firms, divisions of large corporations, new venture businesses, and entrepreneurial social service agencies, to design and facilitate a comprehensive strategic planning process that is practical for them and totally customized to their unique circumstances.
As the owner and principal consultant of the firm, John works with a dozen consulting partners and professional associates on a contract basis and still manages to oversee each project of Changemaking Systems. Mr. Johnson has a diverse professional background which includes working as a consultant to businesses, a general manager, a community organizer, counselor, the vice president of a 120-member professional firm, an administrator, educator, writer, small business owner, and a minister.
During his educational career, John earned a Master's Degree in Organizational Design from the Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1968. He also attended Gustavus Adolphus College and participated in the Preparing Educational Trainers and Consultants study and laboratory series at the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory and the University of Michigan School of Social Research.
In addition, John has spent numerous days attending workshops, seminars, labs, practicums, and tutorials on the various dimensions of organizational, personal and management development, including those of the National Training Laboratory. He also worked for many years with Dr. Richard E. Byrd, one of the pioneers in the behavioral sciences as applied to organizations.
